Bathhouse
The primary design intention is to use the principles of color psychology to create atmospherically charged spaces, intensifying people’s experience with and perception of the thermal baths. The color comes from the light penetrating the waffle slab structure and being filtered through laminated glass. The white concrete building acts as a canvas for the composition of color. Each color within this procession has a particular effect in part because of its context. The form is driven by the circulation in a continuous loop allowing visitors to recirculate as many times as they would like. The circulation spaces are naturally lit clean white spaces that act as palette cleansers between the colored bathing spaces.
